- Community Discussions: Participate in topical discussions with other participants on your own schedule.
- Guest Presentations: Attend a live session every Tuesday at 12 pm Eastern to gain insight from guest speakers. Replays will be available.
- Hands-on Activities: Put into practice what you’re learning and receive feedback from the community.
- Community Hours: Exchange thoughts and questions with your learning community on Fridays at 12 pm or Wednesdays at 6 pm Eastern.
- Final Project for Certification: Complete your final project at the end of the course to receive your Teaching with AI certification and 5 CEUs. Facilitator feedback will be provided.

What is AI Academy?
Course Hero’s AI Academy is a four-week professional development course aimed at supporting both higher education faculty and K-12 teachers in leveraging AI technologies in their classrooms.
Participants who complete the program and the final assignment will gain 5 continuing education units (CEUs) and a Certification in Teaching with AI.
Is prior knowledge of AI required to join the course?
No, AI Academy is designed for participants with varying levels of AI expertise. The courses are designed primarily for beginners and those who are curious about using AI in their teaching, but those with more advanced knowledge will also benefit from the discussions and reflection activities.
Will I receive CEU credits or a certificate of completion?
Yes, upon completion of the course and the final project, you will receive 5 CEUs and a Certification in Teaching with AI.
How long is the course?
The program lasts 3 weeks, from October 14–November 1, 2024.
How can I access the course?
To access the course, first complete your enrollment on this page. The program will begin on Monday, October 14, 2024.
Upon enrolling, all registrants will receive a confirmation email with instructions for the next steps in the course.

Who qualifies to enroll in AI Academy?
Enrollment is open for all, though course content will be most relevant to higher education faculty, high school teachers, instructional designers, graduate students, and administrators.
Approximately how much of a time commitment is expected for each week?
You should expect to invest approximately 10 hours of learning time each week. This includes 3 optional synchronous sessions as well as readings, responding to questions and discussion posts, and hands-on activity completion.
There will be weekly overviews, along with readings, viewings, questions, and provocations to get you started. You’ll share your own questions, resources, and curiosities in your posts. These activities are voluntary and not graded.
What is the course format?
The course will be delivered via the online platform Disco with the option to attend live sessions. Here are the main components of the course:
Will the program be recorded and available on-demand?
The program is only available to participants during the course dates (October 1–November 1, 2024). Select resources will be available on-demand after the completion of the program. You will not have the ability to purchase access to the course on-demand, given that a big part of the course is learning with your community via the course platform.
Can I get a refund if I decide not to continue with the program?
The last date to request a full refund is October 13, 2024. Once the program begins, no refunds will be issued. No partial refunds are available.
Is financial assistance available for participants?
We encourage faculty to request development funds from their institutions or their district and are happy to provide supporting documentation for you if needed.
